SUMMARY: Reporting to the Rest Area Site Supervisor, responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of rest area facilities and grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs regular inspections of rest rooms and common areas for sanitation, cleanliness, order, malfunctioning equipment, and continuously monitor safety of all areas of facility.
• Cleans and maintains rest room buildings (interior and exterior) and all areas of the grounds to include picnic areas, parking lots, pet rest areas, etc.
• Cleaning includes but is not limited to activities such as wiping, moping, sweeping, sanitizing, vacuuming, dusting, litter removal, and trash clean up.
• Assists with all lawn care activities including but not limited to mowing, mulching, trimming, and tree care.
• Performs minor maintenance of facility such as changing light bulbs or filters, etc.
• If all other duties are complete, the attendant, including our night staff who experience a reduced level of customer traffic, should continuously perform safety inspections of the area, as well as inspect facilities for areas in need of repair, replacement, painting, etc. and report these items to his/her supervisor.
• Greets customers and assists them with any questions or concerns.
• Informs Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Supervisor of any hazardous environments and assists in correcting any issues.
• Assists in the training and coaching of Rest Area Attendants and informs Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Supervisor of any issues or concerns.
• Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates a strong work ethic in an effort to “lead by example” to the remaining staff.
• Ensures a safe working environment and facility is established and maintained at all times.
• Promotes a culture of safety to reduce and/or eliminate accidents and injuries.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable OSHA and VOSH standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and complete assigned duties efficiently.
• Ability to work varying shifts as the needs of the business dictate.
• Knowledge of the proper application and handling procedures for chemicals including their interactions, danger signs, material safety data sheets, and disposal methods.
• Professional appearance and manner.
• Must be able to work weekdays, weeknights, weekends, holidays, and during times of inclement weather.
• There is no guarantee of a set schedule or standard days off. Schedules are designed with the business needs in mind. Personal needs will be accommodated if possible.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds, up to 50 pounds preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primary environment is within the rest area facility and within the adjacent parking lot, walkways, and lawns.
