Full Job Description SHIPPING & RECEIVING ASSOCIATE – FULL TIME
I. COMPANY – Tile Outlets of America, a retail warehouse superstore for tile, vinyl, decorative items, and materials.
II. JOB TITLE – Shipping and Receiving Associate
III. JOB LOCATION – 13460 Daniels Commerce Blvd Fort Myers FL 33966
IV. JOB TYPE – Full Time
V. JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assume responsibility for receipt, inter-store transfer and shipment of inventory
• Receive and check incoming orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Identify any discrepancies between each order received and the corresponding purchase order
• Identify any inventory quality issues
• Label each pallet, box or item, as the case may be, with the proper item number and item description
• Coordinate with store management to identify placement location on the sales floor for each item received
• Safely, neatly and accurately place each item received in its specified location
· Monitor inventory placement and packaging to ensure safety and security of products and safety of employees and customers
· Protect and monitor warehouse/receiving/shipping areas to prevent theft, loss and shrinkage
· Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies
• Safely, neatly and accurately pull from inventory and prepare for shipment all inter-store transfers and customer shipments
• Such other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time based upon business needs including pulling customer orders and safely loading them into a customer’s vehicle
VI. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School education
• Prior experience relevant to the job function and responsibilities
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• A command of basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Certified or capable of becoming certified to drive a forklift and reach truck
• The physical ability to lift 50 pounds and more repetitively
• The ability to use a personal computer, calculator, copier and fax
• The ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A passion for treating the customer right
• Good organization and follow-up skills and attention to detail
• A team player
• Ability to speak Spanish a plus
