Full Job Description Equivalent Experience
Description:
is looking to add a NOC Tech to their night shift for a 6 month contract. They will be responsible for monitoring the network, applications, processes, and production environments and responding to alerts. This includes batch processing, responding to email alerts, alerting the proper team and effected parties, and escalating the ticket. As some of the processes within the group mature, they may start doing some of the basic troubleshooting themselves. They are looking for someone that has either worked in a low level NOC/SOC role, or someone from an enterprise service desk back-ground that understands TCP/IP, route switch, and other low level network issues.
The technical skills are important for this role, but the manager is willing to coach someone up if they have the right mindset and drive to learn. They need someone that shows attention to detail and doesn’t need a ton of hand holding.
Candidates should have experience working with a ticketing system (preferably ServiceNow) and should have good written communication and documentation skills. There will be a typing test during the interview process where they will be given a scenario and will have ten minutes to reply back with as much detail as possible.
This is for an overnight shift so candidates should be flexible and able work off hours.
• 6pm-6am Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & every other Wednesday. So they will work a rotation of 4 days on, 3 days off, then 3 days on, and 4 days off with Wednesday being the swing shift.
• Currently remote but will be shifting to more onsite in the next few months. Candidates should be open to being onsite 5 days a week, although they may have some remote flexibility.
Responsibilities:
• Ongoing operation of a 24/7 Command Center/NOC for the Bank’s production environment
• Document all incidents reported to the Command Center/NOC
• Monitors all production environments and responds to alerts and issues that arise
• Analyzes problems and, depending on problem complexity and resolution time constraints, either solves it or escalates to the appropriate team
• Gathers additional information required for escalation to other support teams and documents all incident details
• The Analyst will monitor, track, and analyze workstations and servers for potential security violations and respond to all such incidents
• Takes responsibility for handling incidents and following them through completion or escalation
• Finalizes the task upon successful resolution, according to company policies for incident management
• The Analyst will work with both the Information Security and Operations teams to investigate potential security violations and report compliance accordingly
• Perform maintenance procedures on security systems (i.e. Log management, Vulnerability management, etc.)
• Records problems encountered and techniques used to solve for future reference
• Respond in a timely manner to a loss or misuse of computer assets and communicate security exposures, misuse, or noncompliance situations to Command Center Manager
• Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding the Bank’s computing environment
• Assists Command Center Manager in creating short-term and long-term strategies for the Command
