Full Job Description CBS Television Stations consists of 28 CBS-owned stations in 17 major U.S. markets, as well as the stations’ digital properties. The portfolio of stations includes 15 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates.
The station group’s properties also include CBSN Local, a joint initiative with CBS Interactive that features direct-to-consumer streaming news services in the markets where the Company has local news organizations. CBS Television Stations’ premium local content is also distributed to consumers by the group’s websites and mobile applications.
CBS 11 News is looking for a dynamic, creative, self-motivated Multi-Platform Content Director to drive daily content, big stories, breaking news and special projects. The candidate must be knowledgeable, passionate, engaged, accountable and competitive, leading the news team to build its brand and achieve audience goals. The ideal candidate will generate ideas for improving workflow, content and production to drive audience growth on television and all digital platforms. Candidate will work closely with News Director on strategic planning, hiring, scheduling, and newsroom administration. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The candidate must possess excellent news judgment and leadership skills. Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, management or related field or comparable television management work experience preferred. The candidate must have a proven ability to lead, coach, motivate and solve problems. Applicants should have a minimum five years of experience in a medium/large television market or network, with at least two years in management. A flexible schedule is required.
