Position Snapshot
Foremen at US Ecology are “hands-on” working leads who provide general direction of personnel crews and equipment for around the clock environmental services operations such as emergency response, industrial cleaning, soil excavations and liquid (Non-hazardous) disposal, site maintenance/transformers, emergency spill response and site cleanup projects using a variety of techniques and tools in a collaborative environment.
They also help enforce safety procedures and provide training for our team members.
Day in the Life
This is an exciting and dynamic position, so no two days are ever the same. However, on most days you can expect to:
• Meet with your supervisor for job details and team assignments
• Head to the job site in a company vehicle
• Conduct procedural and safety training
• Communicate with customer’s site representative on issues and solutions
• Document field activities for the day
• Work alongside technicians and drivers to complete the work in a safe and compliant, cost-effective way
• Perform other duties as assigned
What you need to apply
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• CDL Class B w/hazmat and tanker endorsements (or able to obtain CDL)
• Driver’s license required with a clean driving record with less than 3 violations in the last 3 years
• General knowledge of State and Federal EPA programs in relation to: LQG, SQG, ESQG, Satellite Accumulation Area, Universal Waste Regulations, etc.
• Basic computer skills
• Experience in emergency response work or related field
• Required to wear a respirator as needed
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule including overtime and weekends
• Experience with industrial cleaning and equipment
• Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
