POSITION TITLE: IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - HELP DESK
FSAL: NON-EXEMPT
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Information Officer, the incumbent provides computer hardware and software support. Incumbent utilizes technical expertise to provide solutions to user's needs by providing appropriate workstation solutions, including hardware and software installation, service and support.
You Will Need:
• Associate degree or equivalent in related field required or two+ years of experience in IT position.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience required.
• Familiarity with basic networking terminology and concepts required.
• Professional oral and written communication skills required.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Experience or training in computer hardware and software support with Windows Operating Systems is desirable.
• Must be willing to learn new procedures and follow established standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Physical mobility sufficient to service PCs and other equipment installed under desks, in wiring closets and to run cabling in ceilings.
Job Duties:
• Answering the Help Desk phone and responding to Help Desk e-mails.
• Configuring, installing and moving computers, printers, fax machines and telephones.
• Diagnosing and repairing computers, printers, fax machines, and telephone malfunctions.
• Installing new software and software upgrades.
• Training users on use of computers, printers, fax machines and telephones.
• Learning and administering all applicable software that is used on the Suncoast network
• Other duties as assigned.
