Role Value Proposition:
The Group Benefits organization is responsible for the strategic direction, growth and management of MetLife's industry leading U.S. employee benefits business. Our sales force works directly with customers or through brokers and other third parties to distribute our broad range of Group Life, Dental, Vision, Group Disability, MetLife Defender, Global Services, Total Absence Management, Group Property & Casualty, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness, Legal Plan products and services along with Executive Benefits. Group Benefits sells a broad portfolio of insurance solutions to employers and other eligible groups helping to make MetLife the largest provider of group employee benefits in the United States.
The Specialty Markets AE manages the sales growth and relationships of PEOs and Associations for MetLife’s Southeast and Northeast Regions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reports to the PEO & Association National Sales Director and is responsible for overall growth and persistency of the PEO & Association book of business in their regions
• Accountable for developing relationships with internal sales partners along with key brokers, consultants, decision makers and customers in the PEO/Association/Union/Trust market
• Responsible for onboarding new relationships as well as fostering growth within an existing book of relationships
• Establish growth plans for the PEOs & Associations in their region in partnership with Regional Market and National Accounts through regular communication, and account planning
• Develops and executes on Strategies to grow PEO & Association Sales and Persistency
• Conducts annual Stewardship Meetings in partnership with Regional Market, National Accounts, Service, Implementation and Underwriting Partners
• Position involves travel across MetLife’s Southeast and Northeast Regions
• Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• 5+ years of previous group insurance experience successfully selling and services related products
• Appropriate licensing as required, Life, Health, Property, Casualty within 90 days of hire and P&C within 12 months of hire
• Strong customer focus and advanced relationship building and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with PEOs/Associations/Unions/Trusts preferred
• Strong ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal/external partners
Preferred:
• Expert knowledge of supported products, markets and intermediaries preferred
