Summary Product Engineer will be an integral team member for all HVAC product testing and development. Provide mechanical drawings, documentation and Bills of Material necessary for costing and sales selection programs. Work closely with the manufacturing and sales team and provide necessary design support where required. Cross disciplinary lines to provide both internal and external customers technical support and solutions. Job Responsibilities & Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provide mechanical drawings and design documentation for all existing and new products. 30%
• Perform the development and assist in the accurate costing of Bills of Materials for all existing and new products. 10%
• Assist in the product development for new products to include appropriate testing, industry certification, drawing development for new products to include appropriate testing, industry certification, drawing development, Bills of material Development, quality check points and I&O Manuals. This also includes data and support of sales selection programs and accounting for accurate costing 10%
• Work closely with the manufacturing team in resolving immediate production issues in a timely manner 10%
• Develop and maintain Manufacturing Process sheets in standards development and quality improvements of production personnel. 5%
• Assist in developing a part drawing numbering system and revision system for historical traceability and product detail packing development for all certification agencies. 1%
• Provide technical data as necessary for sales in support of project bids and design. 6%
• Assist in the development and maintenance of all I&M manuals and their accuracy needed for field installations and product maintenance. 5%
• Identify innovative opportunities to improve existing products and develop new products 7%
• Prioritize opportunities and determine practical feasibility utilizing solid engineering practices including testing, research, and modeling for obtaining optimum solution. 6%
• Provide sales with technical support including establishing guidelines, reviewing unique applications and after sales support. 10%
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in sheet metal design and fabrication in a HVAC Manufacturing Environment. Experience with Refrigeration systems and Psychometric Chart analysis
• Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft office programs such as Excel, Word, Access and Project. Proficient in AutoDesk Inventor. Transferable proficiency in other CAD systems considered
