Job Title: Assistant Equipment Manager Department : Equipment
Reports To: Equipment Director Status: Non-Exempt(eligible for overtime)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization is seeking qualified candidates for Assistant Equipment Manager position. The Buccaneers are offering this full-time paid position to a highly motivated and committed individual wishing to build upon their education and professional experience with practical experience in the fast-paced world of the National Football League.
Core Functions :
• Assist Equipment staff with the daily coordination of all athletic laundry operations, including but not limited to cleaning, distribution and towel service
• Coordinate daily practice field set up and break down; communicate with position coaches individual drill and equipment needs, distribute and collect all practice field aids, secure all equipment at conclusion of practice
• Support in all sanitation efforts relating to protective equipment and dressing areas as required
• Assist with daily apparel and equipment issue, inventory control, maintenance and cleaning, as directed
• Condition and prepare footballs for competition as directed by QB’s, coaches and equipment staff
• Help with preparation and packing for home and away football games (pre-season, regular and post-season)
• Gameday duties as assigned
Skills & Abilities:
• Effective communication skills
• Must have valid drivers’ license and favorable driving record
• Strong professional and positive demeanor at all times
• Ability to work as part of a team and with a large group
• Ability to safely operate and drive multi-use transports and company vehicles
Experience & Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience
• Prior experience in collegiate or professional football operations preferred
Technical Knowledge:
• Proficiency with MS Office and Windows is preferred
• Previous working knowledge of college or professional football operations highly preferred
Work Environment:
The Company is a professional, fast paced, creative business environment. Other environment conditions:
• Applicants must be able to work flexible and unusual hours including night and weekends according to the team schedule, the NFL season and throughout the year
• Stressful and demanding work environment in executing work on short deadlines
• Standing, working with hands, outdoors for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions
• Occasional lifting more of than 50 pounds
• On occasions will be required to stay at team hotel
• Job duties require employee to drive company vehicle
