Full Job Description Full-time Saturday and Sunday 7a-7p and Thursday 8a-4:30p
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs diagnostic medical radiographic examinations of designated anatomical areas as ordered, according to established protocols and procedure of the Radiologist, for subsequent evaluation and treatment by ordering physician.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Competently operate x-ray equipment while performing x-ray procedures in a safe and optimal manner. Review medical record for pertinent clinical information. Transfer patient to imaging table, explain procedure and position the patient according to protocol. Administer applicable contrast media as prescribed by the Radiologist, by oral or intravenous means. Recognize and respond to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction.
2. Review studies for overall quality. Operate computers associated with imaging equipment used to produce, process, and optimize clinical data.
3. Perform quality control procedures at the designated intervals on imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with Federal and The Joint Commission standards of care.
4. Organize daily work schedule and respond to emergencies as necessary.
5. Interact professionally with patients, colleagues, and other co-workers to efficiently complete daily tasks.
6. Cross-train in other modalities as needed.
7. Participate in continuing education activities as required by Caldwell Medical Center.
8. Perform on-call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet the needs of the department.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology, ARRT Registered, Kentucky Radiation Operators Certificate
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
0-6 months experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
1-2 years experience
