ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Parking & Transportation Services, a division of the University of South Florida's Administrative Services department is responsible for the overall management of the Bull Runner Transit System and parking facilities and services. We are committed to providing guidance and assistance to the USF community and our guests with all their parking and transportation needs in a professional and courteous manner.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Customer Service Representatives are the initial contact for fielding parking related inquiries whether in person, via phone or e-mail. These inquiries are generally related to parking permits, parking rules, citations, payments, and appeals. This position primarily works in the customer service lobby, phone room, customer service work area, and Campus Information Center. There are other opportunities in serving as an ambassador and a key resource for the department at events such as new hire orientation. Other work duties include processing payments for parking permits and citations in the form of checks, vouchers, wire transfers, or credit / debit cards. This position requires sitting, standing, computer input and filing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes permit sales, returns, payments, updates information into Flex. Removes and places registration holds on a daily basis in OASIS. Updates parking accounts with DMV records.
Provides customer with parking information, such as available parking facilities, different types of parking permits and where customers can park. Explains the appeal process to customers. Fields inquiries related to parking, citations, parking rules, payment and appeals in person, by phone, and in writing. Updates departmental databases with current information. Conducts lot usage surveys.
Operates a multiline switchboard to answer the heavy volume of phone calls. Transfers all calls to appropriate areas.
Credit Card processing and inventory control of parking permits.
Files information sheets, affidavits, signed pickup receipts, etc. Review parking accounts and data entry.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a high school diploma, or successful completion of a GED equivalency test. Six months work experience in a position handling cash and other forms of payment is required.
PREFERRED:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, one year cashier or customer service experience in a university setting. Familiar with USF Tampa campus buildings and parking facilities. Experience using Banner/Oasis, GEMS and Flex parking systems. Experience with MS office suite.
