Mainstream Fiber Networks is a regional Internet Service Provider in southern Indiana. Our goal is to provide affordable broadband fiber optic internet services to un-served and under-served communities.
Employment Type:
Full-Time with on-call availability nights and/or weekends
Annual Salary:
$45,000-$65,000/year, based on experience
Position Overview:
The associate network engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and management of core networking infrastructure. Assess and design L2/L3 core networking infrastructure for a rapidly growing ISP. Forecasting expansion and circuit design requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
IPv4, IPv6, VLAN, NAT, OSPF, BGP, QOS.
Network fundamentals of design and integration.
Additional consideration will be given to those with network certifications.
Functional and Technical Competencies:
Juniper / JUNOS - Preferred
Various Cisco / Juniper style CLI ‘s
L2 switching design and maintenance
Firewall, policy, and security experience
Internal and WAN routing configuration. OSPF/BGP others.
Education/Training and Certification, Licensure, Registration Requirements, Experience:
Minimum 2 years as network associate or other experience in the networking world. Formal education in a CS or IT degree will also be considered.
Environment and/ or Physical Factors:
Ability to learn and communicate effectively with members of the infrastructure team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Some travel required.
**On-Call availability required. Working nights and/ or weekends.
Some physical lifting and mobility requirements.
