Job Description
If you are enthusiastic, passionate about learning and know your way around a claim file the Senior Learning and Development Field Trainer position is for you. This position will support the claims organization through the design, development and delivery of claims training programs. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and strong project management skills to ensure training is delivered accurately and timely.
JOB DUTIES:
• Models ethical behavior and executes job responsibilities in accordance with Citizens core values, ethics and information protection policies.
• Train and mentor adjusters based on training needs of the business in order to improve on-the-job performance.
• Coach, counsel and train staff by conducting ride along/side by sides, reviewing workload and provide input on any learning gaps.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME) or customers in course design, curriculum development and materials creation.
• Partner, build and maintain relationships with vendors, contingent workers, not limited to local colleges, universities and associations.
• Facilitate learning using a variety of platforms.
• Design, develop and implement complex time-sensitive instructional materials with identifiable measurable objectives to achieve desired learning outcomes and ensure high quality standards.
• Lead high impact large scale projects from start to finish with minimal or no supervision.
• Consult with various business unit leaders keeping a pulse on the business to identify training needs and coordinate learning.
• Work with Learning and Development Manager to meet department objectives. Coach, mentor and train other L&D staff. Review and approve training materials at L&D Manager’s request. Provides leadership in absence of L&D Manager.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Knowledge of principles, techniques and methods of adult learning; use of virtual aids; learning processes; curriculum development education and training evaluation.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of property insurance operations, agency and/or underlying principles and related Florida laws and regulations.
• Problem solving orientation, flexible and positive attitude.
• Rapidly assimilate information and complex technical concepts when preparing to facilitate new and updated courses.
• Detail-oriented, organized, self-starter and self-motivator.
• Adjust easily to changing assignments and environmental conditions.
• Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to build cross-functional relationships.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); advanced in PowerPoint, proficient in virtual learning platform, Leader Guide Pro and polling software.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, setting priorities and demonstrating excellent project management skills.
• Ability to travel within the market and occasional overnight travel.
• Utilize strategic thinking when making decisions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years relevant experience OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 4 years.
AND
• 5 or more years of experience in instructional design, course development and facilitation.
• 5 or more years of property and casualty claims adjusting experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• 2-20 General Lines License or 620 Resident All-Lines Adjuster License.
• Experience presenting to large groups (50 or more participants).
• 8 years of experience in instructional design and course development.
• Proficient in conducting investigations, damage assessments and utilizing estimating software.
• Field Claims Experience.
• Insurance Designations (AIC, CPCU, CLU, CHFC, ARM, INS).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone and key frequently on a computer (4 hours or more a day). Position also requires occasional overnight travel.
