The Product Control and Chief Accounting Officer Technology team drives the transformation of Finance and Risk data to align with Citi’s Data Strategy to meet regulatory commitments and business needs. The team sits within Global Functions Technology (GFT) which is one of nine organizations within Operations and Technology (O&T) and is an important enabler of Citi's strategy, supporting the needs of Finance, Risk, Compliance, HR, and other regulatory requirements. Our mission is to deliver world-class technology solutions for Citi's Global Functions through the use of common data, analytics and platforms. As a group, we deliver innovative technology solutions to enable Citi to meet regulatory commitments, mitigate risk and operate in a cost-effective manner with highly effective controls. About the Role
The Applications Development Group Manager, in Citi's Finance Full Suite platform, is a senior technical  position responsible for delivering solutions through managing a team of developers. As part of the Finance Transformation program the App Dev Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing new applications/platforms while reengineering existing systems in coordination with other Technology Teams.
Responsibilities:
• Work with operations and technology on solutions implementation including development of business requirements, architecture considerations and testing.
• Manage teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
• Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of general ledger functions to help business partners on day to day operations and processes to meet the business goals.
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
• Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals
• Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources
• Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
• Requires deep dives with the business Stakeholders to ensure strong understanding of the process, risks and related controls.
• Identify opportunities for continuous process improvements to existing processes, or definition of new processes/procedures and updating documentation as necessary.
• Consult on architecture and design, bootstrap, and/or implement prototypes. Architect, implement, and/or validate integrations with 3rd party applications., help to implement and deploy key projects and products.
• Qualifications:
• 10+ years of IT expertise with in-depth technical application development, implementations across DW/ETL/BI projects and 8+ years working as Senior Data Architect / Data Architect.
Strong hands on technologist with leadership skills to lead and drive the core engineering aspects of Full Suite platform aligning to the Finance Transformation strategy.
• Experience and understanding of Bigdata ecosystem, tools & technology, bigdata cluster, spark, Scala, Python, hive, pig, dedicated queues.
• Hands on experience building cloud-based data warehouse solutions like Snowflake, Redshift and similar cloud-based products Cloud certification will be plus and add value.
• Good experience in understanding business requirements and translating these to schema requirements, good understanding of data ingestion techniques, meta data, ETL(Ab Initio) and reporting.
Proficiency in data modelling, very good understanding of data management concepts of Oracle / Netezza / Snowflake Databases.
• Strong conceptual thinking ability and proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Extensive experience in layered solutions and designs, diverse technical configurations, across multiple technologies and processing environments.
• High degree of flexibility and ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization with diverse backgrounds.
• Experience with Finance and Accounting ecosystem is a plus
• Experience working with DevOps or Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CICD)
• Experience with reporting frameworks
• Experience managing global technology teams
• Working knowledge of industry practices and standards
• Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
