Full Job Description Job Summary
The Vision Technicians conduct diabetic retinal image scanning events at Primary Care Physician (PCP) offices primarily in greater Orlando, FL area, and less frequently travel to other Florida metropolitan areas. Techs are directed by the Account Manager/Lead Technician and related Excedis internal staff as to when and where scanning events are scheduled. Techs are trained to capture, properly save and document relevant patient information pertinent to scanned retinal images, all while adhering to all HIPAA and PHI requirements. Schedules are flexible, but any time off must be pre-scheduled through the Account Manager to ensure all events scheduled will be covered. This is a part-time 1099 position, offers no benefits, and will be subject to clearing a background check and passing a drug test.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
• Successfully execute all scheduled retinal exam events at a primary care physician's office or other agreed upon locations.
• Image the retina of diabetic patients using a company provided retinal camera following all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure an acceptable quality image is produced.
• Properly communicate to Account Manager details about event attendance, reception by providers' office(s) and escalate any concerns during event
• Accurately document all patient demographic information on provided mobile technology (laptop, tablet) via the Argus proprietary dashboard (image portal)
• Maintain and secure confidentiality of all patient information
• Mail any equipment back to company offices after events are completed, when and as directed by Account Manager
• Responsive and timely communication with Excedis team members and PCP staff
• Flexibly available Monday through Friday, and potentially some Saturdays as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Dependable and responsible for attending all scheduled events and maintaining all company provided technology (laptop/tablet, retinal camera)
• Focus on results with a keen attention to detail
• Comfortable with technology and learning new technical skills.
• Passion for helping the senior population with a compassionate, patient and professional demeanor, and a professional appearance
• Understand and pass training module on HIPAA compliance
• Possess a reliable vehicle with proper auto insurance policy and willingness to drive up to 60 miles one way to reach event, or further if prior discussed and agreed upon with Account Manager
• Possess a mobile phone to keep available before, during and after event
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred; will train on basic functions as needed
• Capable of identifying process deficiencies and communicating appropriately.
Experience
• Prefer experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Customer/Patient Services, Multitasking, and Troubleshooting.
