DESCRIPTION
Keiser University is seeking a Regional IT Support Staff to support campuses in the Tampa area .
This person will be based out of the Tampa campus and will be responsible for performing system administration including adding/removing computers, updating rights to shared network, installation of network, etc; and providing the first contact for users requiring support or technical computer systems assistance, and operations procedures to support the computing environment.
The essential functions and responsibilities for the Regional IT Support Staff are the following:
• Travel to remote sites to fix network and software related issues that cannot be managed remotely.
• Network System Administration – Performs regular system administration including adding/removing users, securing rights to shared network services, data and resources, installation of network – based software and systems components.
• Systems Support - Provides first line end user support for information management systems and technology, including Internet services and the local area network.
• Provides technical guidance, advice and training to system users. Install new versions of personal computer software. Responsible with the rest of the IT staff for the maintenance and operation of the Help Desk tracking system.
• IT Operations - Manages regularly scheduled library of tape backup resources including daily backups, weekly backups.
• Training – Develop and coordinate an overall software applications training curriculum for end users of all levels.
The Regional IT Support Staff must have the following:
• An Associate’s Degree in MIS or related field is preferred accompanied by 2 years relative experience in an MIS environment. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Working knowledge of personal computer operating systems, networking systems and applications software Windows based.
• Analytical/problem solving, leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
This is a full time position that requires day, evening and weekend availability and is located in Tampa, FL but will require travel to other campuses.
