What We Need & What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
• be the primary HR partner, point of contact and change agent for a matrixed business unit. You will assist the business in managing the workforce for your given area, provide guidance, counsel/coaching and translate business strategy into human capital needs. You will develop company and business unit specific projects
• identify the need for organization design/structure changes and partner with Office Depot (our parent company) to effectively populate structure; as well as providing guidance on talent and headcount/cost
• support and communicate Performance Management processes congruent with company strategy/methodology. Champion the talent review process; provide input and guidance (with business) on assessments, identification of successors and development actions (e.g., assignments, training, etc.). Play an active role in managing development action plans for key individuals
• partner with the Talent Acquisition team and management to implement talent strategies including hiring and selection, workforce planning including gap analysis, high potential identification, assessment and management, retention of identified key talent, career pathing, accelerated development, and other organizational development initiatives as identified
• partner with enterprise wide Human Resources Partners to deliver retention and recognition strategies across Office Depot Omni channels to include performance, incentive, compensation, benefits and recognition programs
• contribute and serve as advisor and/or technical expert on project teams such as organizational and team development, talent management, acquisition, training, company culture, etc. in support of organizational changes and initiatives.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
• BA/BS in Business Management/Human Resources, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience as HR Business Partner within multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational development, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, performance management
• Knowledge of employment law and practices, Employment Standards and relevant Human Rights legislation
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a company with operations across multiple locations
• Builds and maintains credibility with ability to influence at all levels throughout the organization, including senior levels
• Ability to recommend solutions, eliminate roadblocks and improve processes for successful execution
• Strong initiative, collaboration skills and work ethic
• Comfortable working in a culture of constant change and demonstrated track record of success in creative problem solving
