Job Description
In this position, you will be expected to review production schedules and place orders with suppliers to meet production requirements. Some more specific requirements include the following:
• Manage inventory, inventory turns and item master data in the MRP system for purchased parts.
• Manage suppliers and obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, expedite orders and resolve supplier issues.
• Review material requirements within Mapics for purchases. This includes maintaining the master data, lead-times and supplier information within the MAPICSD database.
• Initiates and maintains blanket orders, releases and single purchases.
• Manages Kanbans based on established parameters.
• Works with engineering to determine potential cost savings.
• Supports engineering for new product development.
Job Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following personal traits and/or job responsibilities:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3-years as a Buyer/Purchasing Agent in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of MAPCIS and SAP experience is a huge plus.
• Strong computer skills with MRP systems and Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position is between $65,000 to $75,000. For a highly qualified candidate, my client will pay a higher base salary. The benefit program is a very complete package and the company offers a 401K match for all employees. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
