Full Job Description The HR Manager performs human resources-related duties at the professional level. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of human resources, services , benefits administration, policies, and programs are successfully achieved. Plans, organizes, and monitors the activities and actions of the HR Department.
Responsibilities and Associated Duties :
• Resolves employee relation issues by conferring with managers on complex and highly sensitive issues.
• Initiates and manages investigations concerning employee and legal complaints.
• Consults on the development of corrective action documents reviews related documentation and determines potential risks. Participates in all termination meetings.
• Provides advice and guidance, in all HR areas. ensuring that management is kept updated on policy issues and employment law risk is effectively managed.
• Drives HR capability by partnering with HR Generalist to develop and implement new and/or improved programs and processes
• Responds to daily employee requests related to all aspects of Human Resources. Counsels employees on various topics, while balancing employer advocacy role
• Cultivates internal and external relationships. Establishes strong working partnerships with employees and managers at varying levels.
• Responsible for various HR projects, ad hoc requests, and initiatives.
• Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
• Engages with a nationwide client group in the execution of performance management practices, retention, employee development, and recognition. Creates, develops, and coordinates the annual performance review process.
• Develops and implements HR policies and procedures. Responds to inquiries from employees/managers regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
• Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
• Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
• Processes workers compensation claims, life/short-term/long-term disability claims.
• Educates employees and coordinates FMLA and LOA requests. Ensures all the proper paperwork and timing requirements are met. Refers employees to payroll regarding premiums payments. Works with parent company HR on any FMLA and ADAs situations (reasonable accommodations and interactive processes, if applicable).
• Works closely with Payroll Supervisor towards resolution on any payroll and timecard/payment issues.
• Manages HR Generalist and activities with regard to recruitment and onboarding steps.
• Completes Employee Verification requests in both writing and verbally.
• Develops department goals, objectives, and systems.
• Responsible for participating in and supporting Senior Management initiatives
• Coordinator of Air Culinaire’s Disaster Recovery Plan
• Responsible for monitoring and adherence to the Human Resources annual budget.
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a human resource generalist role.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Effective interpersonal skills, ability to present information and work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of current federal and state employment laws.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work, managing several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and good judgment in interpreting and applying policies to problems.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft suite of office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Benefits Administration required
• California HR experience preferred
• SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHPR certification is desired.
