Director, Product Management – Operational Maintenance - Virtual
Overview
The Director, Product Management – Operational Maintenance is responsible for establishing and driving deliberate, measurable improvements that significantly change the way we work with our internal business partners and external provider constituents.  This position will lead from the front and design the future of healthcare today by delivering innovation that revolutionizes the health care experience.
This position will be responsible for the long-term Product vision, while at the same time managing the day-to-day activities, for the Operational Maintenance product capabilities that enable Provider Operations to support the loading, maintenance and utilization of provider demographic, contractual, credentialing and pricing data across UHC capabilities that serve our Members and Providers.
The Director will have authority to make decisions about product functionality, market need, end user experience. Responsibilities include capturing and synthesizing the voice of the customer, who are affected by the decisions made for the Products supported by this role, while focusing on value generation and enabling organizational product / membership growth and medical cost savings.   Position is also responsible for collaborating across the UHC Product Capability model to deliver large scale cross-Product enhancement.
Primary Responsibilities
• Creation of a strategic vision to translate real-world Provider, Member and UHC Operations problems into engaging products and services
• Management and sunsetting of new, existing, or acquisition products and product lines – enabling technology modernization strategy
• Own relationship with Functional Area SMEs, sharing vision and insights
• Drive business work within the Agile process, sharing Business vision
• Define and prioritize Features that will be groomed and developed by Product Development
• Own the product at a Feature level, using Roadmap and Capabilities as a guide
• Create, manage, and prioritize Capability Acceptance Criteria
• Work closely with Optum IT Developments & Architecture, Finance and Business Teams to forecast and attack product-line investments
• Lead Product Manager and Product Owners to ensure user story alignment across multiple agile teams
• Lead enterprise-cross functional teams to support go-to-market strategies and initiatives
• Develop, maintain, and evangelize product-line value proposition
• Forecast savings opportunities associated with product development initiatives
• Influence innovation across teams to ensure aligned; cohesive progress across multiple areas including technology, provider operations, network, experience, and service operations
• Gather, manage and prioritize customer feedback (stakeholder feedback, NPS results, quality audit results)
Required Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of product management / product development in an organization delivering software in a Web / SaaS environment
• Experience being successful in an Agile environment
• Mastery of product lifecycle process and experience working with agile software delivery tools (CA Agile, AHA, etc.)
• Experience leading and coordinating efforts across matrixed organizations
• Experience developing and communicating a Product Strategy
• Experience in development and communicating Roadmaps of activities to achieve the Product Strategy. Experience prioritizing work efforts across matrixed teams to manage the most effective delivery of deliverables on the Roadmap
• Experience in communicating product requirements across various types of delivery teams, such as: Analytics, Software Engineering, Operations Users, and more
• Experience communicating product capabilities and roadmaps to Senior Leaders
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with P&L in a highly matrixed organization
• Ability to achieve goals in a matrixed environment
• Ability to work collaboratively and influence others
Colorado Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $110,200 to $211,700 base.
