Kforce has a client that is seeking a Tax Manager, CPA in Tampa, FL. Principal Duties Responsibilities:
• Maintain required level of technical knowledge
• Prepare estimated federal and state income tax payments
• Research and prepare work papers for various tax compilations
• Perform year end accrual review and prepare tax provisions
• Prepare various federal, state, and local income tax returns
• Prepare various personal property tax returns
• Prepare/Review other various tax filings: Annual reports, Intangible Tax, Sales and Use Tax
• Recommends tax strategies by researching federal, state, and local taxation issues
• Revises procedures by developing and streamlining procedures and worksheets for calculation of tax provisions
• Assist in federal and state audits
• Maintain tax preparation software (Lacerte)
• Keep abreast of current developments in tax law changes, both federal and state
• Become an information source in tax within the company
• Analyze and provide financial summaries of client information
• Monitor and assist clients with accounting entries and coding
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business related subject area
• Current CPA or EA designation
• Minimum 2 years of tax experience
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of federal tax laws for business and individual returns
• Advanced knowledge of modern accounting theory, principles and practices; knowledge of accounting terminology; knowledge of financial record keeping and reporting and budget preparation
• Ability to analyze financial transactions and make original or adjusting entries; ability to read and comprehend financial transactions; ability to trace transactions through financial records
• Advanced skills in the applications of the general principles and practices of modern accounting; good skills in reviewing and analyzing accounting transactions
• Communicates effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback on the quality of services
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentational skills
• Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with administration, staff, consultants, regulators and funders in a team-oriented environment
• Capacity to assume responsibility for own professional development
• Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving
• Flexible, with the ability to work in a highly demanding, stressful environment
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Excel
• Proficiency using QuickBooks online and/or desktop
• Proficient in use of office technology such as desktop computers, VOIP phone systems, email, cell phones, etc.
• Proficiency with 10-Key and typing
