Airgas South, a subsidiary of Airgas USA LLC, the nation's leading distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases and welding supplies, has a Talent Acquisition Specialist position available at our Tampa, FL location.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for more than just finding great talent. This position is responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive outreach plan that will develop and secure a pipeline of talent for years to come. This includes the full life cycle of recruitment activities including sourcing, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, negotiating salaries, extending job offers, etc. It also includes working with Regional leaders and field-based HR to develop strategic and tactical recruiting plans to effectively support the talent acquisition process, as well as tracking and managing open requisitions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Serve as primary recruiter for the the South/Southeast Region of Airgas
• Facilitate the full recruiting life cycle
• Work collaboratively with hiring managers to understand business objectives and candidate requirements for open positions
• Source candidates using various sourcing methods to fill open positions in a timely manner
• Screen candidates by conducting interviews by using phone, in-person and web-based interview methods in order to effectively and efficiently qualify each candidate
• Identify and recommend candidates for final interviews
• Guide and coach hiring managers through the recruitment and interview process
• Manage the pre-employment process steps for job candidates
• Utilize the applicant tracking system and spreadsheets to document all recruitment activity
• Complete and process all recruitment paperwork to seek approval to hire job candidates
• Extend offers of employment to candidates who have been approved and complete the hire process providing correct new hire paperwork to the Business Service Center (BSC) for processing
• Provide superior customer service to candidates and internal & external customers throughout the recruitment process; ensure all verbal and written communications are accurate, clear, concise and professional
• Work closely with HR Generalists to understand recruitment needs and dynamics in their assigned areas
• Complete background, drug screen and reference checks for selected candidates
• Occasionally assist with campus recruitment events as needed
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analytics as required
• Manage the requisition log and applicant/interview/hire reports
• Identify real and potential recruitment & employment-related concerns and escalate to the Director Human Resources
• Proactively recommend recruitment best practices
• Conduct regularly scheduled new hire orientations
• Travel to field locations as needed to offer recruiting assistance, training, etc.
• Maintain electronic personnel files – scanning and indexing weekly
• Respond to telephone inquiries in a timely manner
• Other tasks or duties as assigned to support the Human Resources department

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent
• 3 – 5 years Recruiting experience or a combination of education and experience
• AIRS Certification a plus
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, and officials in other departments
• Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and background at all levels of the organization
• Have a strong focus on analysis, personal activity level, efficiency and quality of hiring
• Be able to meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently, work independently and be motivated to achieve results
• Experience utilizing social networks and databases to source and cold-call candidates
• An upbeat, energetic, tenacious personality
• A desire to grow and learn in human resources
• Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles including planning and organizing, resource management and leadership skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, moderately complex, and confidential information
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Experience with Taleo, Kronos, TCP, ADP EV4 or PeopleSoft HRIS systems preferred
• Previous training background
• Ability to read and listen, understand and communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner, both orally and in writing
• Commitment to an assertive and varied work schedule, including nights and weekends on occasion
• Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people with different personalities and background at all levels of the organization
• Ability to travel (at least 40%)
