Our Client, a law firm, is seeking a sharp individual to join our closing department as a billing specialist. The primary function is to manage the Firm’s processes and systems in closing Personal Injury cases – ensuring all case-related bills and expenses are correct, negotiated, and paid. Will also pay office bills, deposit checks, and work with the Bookkeeper. Consistent follow-up is required in this role, so prior experience in accounts receivable is a valuable asset. Responsibilities
• Run accounts receivable reports to keep track of past due accounts and follow up on payment
• Amend invoices with guidance from billing attorneys and finalize for distribution
• Process incoming payments to appropriate accounts and keep precise financial records
• Maintain Client billing in excel and practice management software
• Pay invoices timely
• Request billing reductions from medical providers
• Directly communicate with vendors, medical providers, insurance companies, bookkeeper, and clients
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college is helpful
• Competency with computer programs such as MS Office, Excel, and billing software is essential
• Two years of experience working as in a billing specialist position at a law firm
• Superb written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills are necessary for this position
• Ability to handle multiple projects at a time and meet deadlines
• Ability to recognize issues when balancing a client’s closing statement
• Self-motivation with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to maintain firm values by keeping client information confidential
Compensation
$17 - $20 hourly
Eligible for Health benefits, Dental, Vision and 401k at 90 days as well as Paid Time Off
