This position is responsible for performing routine but varied clerical duties in accordance with CMS guidelines and departmental standard procedures.
Clerk Responsibilities:
• Receives Appeals via multiple avenues of receipt, sorts, classifies, forwards, reconciles, consolidates, and summarizes documents
• Makes and receives phone calls to exchange information to accomplish tasks. Maintains individual in accordance with reconciliation procedures.
• Reviews daily reports, correcting errors using established formats and procedures.
• Outreach to Member or Provider’s regarding missing or invalid information.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate document archiving, in accordance with established procedures.
• Verifies unrecognized characters and flags quality issues as they arise.
• Provides daily detailed inventory counts.
Qualifications
Clerk Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• 2-3 years of related work experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• Attention to Detail.
• Analytical thought process.
• Medicare knowledge and terminology.
• Intermediate knowledge of all Microsoft platforms.
• Self-reliant on Outlook as the main form of communication, deliverables and communicating with internal business partners.
