Working as part of a team of Sourcing Operations & Enablement (SOE) professionals, the Analyst position is responsible for providing financial analysis and decision support to the Sourcing Operations & Enablement organization. As a member of our SOE team, the Analyst is responsible for determining how to gather relevant information, conduct in-depth analysis and make recommendations that drive improvements in Pfizer’s Procure to Pay (P2P) and sourcing processes and operations. Examples of analytical activities include: financial analysis and investigations supporting Pfizer’s Working Capital Program; spend reporting supporting Pfizer’s Supplier Diversity Program; metrics, spend and savings reporting; as well as ad hoc business case development & complex sourcing analysis. This position will report to the Director, Engagement & Inclusion.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate and complete financial reporting activities, analyze data, and assure tasks are executed in quality and timely manner in support of achieving SES performance against targets.
• Maintain and apply a strong and current knowledge of Procurement & Finance systems and associated Business Intelligence tools as a regular part of the role to best support reporting, financial analysis and problem solving activities.
• Work and develop relationships with other teams such as sourcing colleagues, Global Financial Services, and Business Technology (BT) to understand the diverse requirements of the Sourcing and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and systems, to identify and complete investigations of data trends and outliers to determine root causes of issues and recommend and track the implementation of solutions.
• Work with other members of the SOE team, SES colleagues and, where applicable, suppliers, to develop processes for and manage accurate record of suppliers’ diversity status, forecast, track and report actual spend with such diverse and small businesses to manage Pfizer’s Supplier Diversity Program and commitments, which may include managing a survey completion process and maintaining such records and document repositories.
• Perform comprehensive business analysis on Pfizer spend, savings, working capital performance and other associated metrics and reports/dashboards/scorecards to help drive decision making and achieve group objective.
• Support the approval process for cost savings tracking including review and approval of forms, training and guidance to SES colleagues on how to resolve errors with their form submissions.
• Package and present results of analysis, recommendations, benefits and risks in clear & useful manner.
• Use analysis results to develop recommendation to improve P2P processes, operational, and strategic sourcing activities.
• Work with SES colleagues to understand their Business Intelligence and reporting requirements to recommend reports and analysis approaches, which may include scheduled or on demand training of Business Intelligence tools and techniques.
• Be an articulate communicator with effective interpersonal skills; effectively engage SES teammates, stakeholders and supplier contacts (as needed) on meeting objectives that are to our mutual benefit.
• Speak, present, and facilitate with ease in one-to-one, small and large group situations; demonstrates thoughtful use of a variety of communication tools and techniques (language, style, behavior and information content) to explain difficult issues; adapts style readily to various management audiences.
• Contribute at team meetings and, at times, present to different audiences, as appropriate
• Research best practices, industry trends, etc., to help improve the delivery of financial analysis and decision support.
• Execute on assigned projects & manage multiple priorities in parallel
• Work on ad hoc analysis and projects & activities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain/Procurement, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
• 2-4 years work experience in Procurement or Finance discipline preferred, ideally within a large multi-national company.
• Strong organizational skills, capacity to quickly identify problems and structure solutions, and to plan and prioritize multiple projects, while maintaining high quality and meeting or exceeding deadlines.
• Highly effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• A team player who is willing to go above and beyond to meet goals and objectives.
• Advanced Microsoft skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, formula creation, macros, etc).
• Ability to work as a team member and/or independently towards departmental objectives
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assignments
• Comfort working in a matrix organization
• Developing Finance & Procurement systems skills – SAP, Ariba, Oracle & related BI tools
• Developing MS Office skills especially Excel & Access
