Position Summary:
The Research Support Specialist provides support to the designated Principle Investigator (PI) and Clinical Research Administrators working on the assigned project/protocol. The position works independently to assist the Research team in the preparation of all documents with regard to clinical trials and research related projects.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting with the preparation and submission of documents to the IRB, both USF and WIRB, granting agencies and study sponsors. Data entry for clinical trials, proofing for data entry errors, and preparing patient/participant documents for study visits, which includes development of eCRFs as needed. Assist with monitoring visits and attend Investigator Meetings as requested by Research Administrators. Develop materials to communicate projects/trials to potential clients and their families and assist with the promotional materials supplied by the sponsors. Assists Clinical Research Administrators with testing, including preparation of laboratory shipments and obtaining required information from study subjects during patient visits.
• Monitors and schedules all study patient appointments for USF clinic and works closely with scheduling department for approval of study patient subjects. Reviews all Movement Disorder patient encounter forms for errors and completion prior to submission to billing department and assists with retrieving study subjects medical history prior to visit. Assist with the planning of annual fund raising event and overseeing quarterly newsletter with the Movement Disorder Center and annual Continuing Medical Education (CME).
• Screens internal and outside mail and screens all telephone messages for the Sr. Clinical Research Administrator and Faculty for the Movement Disorder Program. Composes correspondence, reports and obtains signatures. Work with minimal supervision with planning, organizing and coordinating multiple work assignments and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and effectively and professionally communicate sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in office or administrative support or in research support.
• College education may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.
PREFERRED:
• Allscripts experience preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
• Computer literate in these areas of a PC environment: Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet browsers.
