Full Job Description Full time or Part Time Veterinary Technician position available for a large, family owned and operated, small animal veterinary practice. We are looking for a motivated, organized, animal compassionate person who will perform a broad set of functions. Previous experience and education preferred but not required.
The Veterinary Technician assists the doctors to the fully to help improve the quality of care given to the patients, and to aid the doctors in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of technical work at Wills Animal Hospital.
Veterinary Technicians assist in multiple procedures including, but not limited to physical examinations, dental procedures, surgeries, immunizations, euthanasia as well as client education, marketing and inventory maintenance. This position requires a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, common diseases (their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment and prevention), and other basic preventive health care recommendations. This is an overview of the position and the job responsibilities listed do not encompass the entire position. The Veterinary Technician is under the direct guidance and supervision of the Veterinary Technician Team Leader and Veterinarians
Requirements are:
• Ability to follow instructions with a strong attention to detail
• Computer savvy with new software/online computer systems
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Professional in manner and appearance
• Ability to type at least 40 WPM
• Dependable and ethical
• Abide by our drug free workplace policy
• Hours can vary between 6:45 AM and 7:00 PM Monday-Friday.
• Rotating after hours on call duties.
