Position Summary
The Community Resource Associate is responsible in providing assistance to Department of Children and Families, guiding clients in applying for food stamps, Medicaid, and cash assistance.
Essential Job Functions

• Ensures that clients are seen in a timely manner.
• Provides service in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist individuals and families to apply on line for Medicaid, food stamps and temporary cash assistance.
• Download government forms available online and assist applicants in completing the necessary forms.
• Assist clients to contact DCF for interviews or any questions about their cases.
• Assist clients in faxing information requested by DCF in order to process their applications.
• Enter a weekly report in IPHES summarizing the activities for each American Pace ACCESS Program, including but not limited to: applicant volume, ACI enrollment, and fraudulent activities.
• Create new ACI members record ID’s in IPHES.
• Assist clients in filling out ACI health plans applications.
• Upload applications and legal ID’s for ACI plan new members: Health Flex, Premier, and Premier Ext.
• Assist new Health Flex members to complete form 4506T and send it to IRS.
• Enter in IPHES daily the enrollment requests for the different plans.
• Generate a monthly report that contains all the enrollments requests, effective date and health plan.

• Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position
• They may be required to lift heavy boxes or to use stepladders to retrieve supplies from high shelves.
• Frequent communications – verbal and written.
Required Education and Experience * Excellent computer skills
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills
• Extensive familiarity with health care relevant legislation and standards for the protection of health information and patient privacy
• Must possess a high degree of integrity and trust along with the ability to work independently
• Excellent Computer and documentation skills
• Very organized and able to multitask; detail oriented
• Demonstrated skills in collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving to achieve goals
• Demonstrated skills in providing excellent service to customers
• Understanding of insurance plans
• Strong spelling, reading, and mathematics skills
• Communication skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding and ability to use practice management system.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Relevant or any other job related vocational coursework.
Preferred Education and Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service and/or sales experience
