SOF AT&L - Systems Engineer (PEO-C4) Apogee Engineering | Tampa, Florida 33601 Unspecified DoE Q or L Unspecified IT - Software IT - Software Apogee is seeking a Systems Engineer located at MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), FL in support of Special Operations Forces (SOF) Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT&L) Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications & Computers (C4).

What you will be doing:
• Provide multidisciplinary engineering to determine the technical needs in the acquisition, development, and sustainment of systems.
• Apply diverse engineering practices, techniques, and processes to resolve difficult issues consistent with program objectives.
• Interpret engineering requirements into design characteristics and criteria.
• Help plan, analyze, and evaluate engineering and technical efforts to define requirements, translate into design criteria, assess alternative design approaches, and develop system specifications.
• Help determine the means to advance projects and evaluate significant modifications to production methods or materials due to changes in requirements, technological advances, or shortcomings.
• Develop evaluations and technical justifications of feasibility.
• Analyze and study performance requirements against a wide range of diverse considerations.
• Assist in the evaluation of technology, components, and systems by developing evaluation criteria, performing evaluations, and documenting results.
• Plan, develop, and implement procedures for review of acquisition programs and military engineering programs; direct engineering sufficiency reviews of these programs until turnover.
• Support contract modification and make technical recommendations for change order approval.
• Supports budget control directly supporting the engineering effort. Provide decision support inputs for approval of plans, specification, cost estimates, design calculations, schedules, cost proposals, and engineering studies.
• Plan, execute, and document surveillance of design, development, and production efforts on behalf of government counterparts, using performance indicators identified in applicable engineering surveillance processes.
• Provide significant, expert level support to government counterparts regarding the adequacy and clarity of agency engineering and analysis processes based on daily application of the processes and agency reporting requirements.
• Complete advanced engineering demand tasks such as reviewing engineering change proposals, requests for waivers and deviations, and nonconforming materials.
What you will need to have:
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in area of Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Master’s degree desired, but not required.
• Possess Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II Equivalency in Engineering or Test and Evaluation fields.
• Possess a TS clearance and be SCI eligible by the CCF based on an SSBI.
• Possess 10+ years DoD acquisition experience with a minimum of 3 years DoD experience in Military Communications.
• Knowledge of multi-disciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Skill in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting design concepts and ability to convey ideas and formulate working drawings using computer aided design systems, graphical interface systems.
• Knowledge of contracting principles, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as applied to program management.
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and policies of professional engineering program management to include program planning and budget cycles, and financial control/budgeting systems.
• Knowledge of engineering design and correction of repair procedures.
• Skill in evaluating state-of-the-art scientific and environmental/engineering technologies and incorporating into the planning, design, operation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of applicable systems.
• Ability to direct and coordinate engineering and maintenance programs and inform development of criteria for specialized critical system design.
