The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is required to qualify within six months from their date of hire. It is the responsibility of the Shipping and Receiving Specialist to retain general plant, product, and procedural knowledge.
Responsibilities:
• internal and external customer service
• receipt and disposition of all bulk and non-bulk raw materials (sampling, offloading) and ensuring their proper storage
• loading out-bound non-bulk shipments
• ensuring proper documentation is completed for all inbound and outbound loads
• The Shipping and Receiving Bulk Material Specialist receives, stores, and distributes materials to their correct location in a timely manner.
• Shipping & Receiving involves loading & offloading trucks, moving material from one location to another by forklift.
• Perform railroad operations, such as; transfer of material, switches, and effectively communicate and coordinate with CSX and production.
• Performs daily and monthly warehouse inventory and updates inventory databases.
• Working with truck drivers to ensue appropriate placards & labels are placed in correct location. Reviews driver paperwork for receipt or shipment.
• Retaining learned knowledge from procedures and hands on instruction. Good listening skills, verbal and written communication are required.
• Daily good housekeeping skills is a must to keep the warehouse, material & product storage areas, and warehouse floor neat and organized for all.
• Warehouse operations require strong attention to details, organization skills, and an ability to read bills of lading and other shipping & receiving documents and properly filing these items. Strong communication skills are necessary to communicate problems to the Warehouse Leader.
• Being flexible to react to customer demand and immediate needs of the plant
• High School Diploma or GED; 18 years or older
• Forklift certification required
• Warehouse or production related experience required.
