Invenco is growing very quickly in North America - and we are looking for new a new Applications Engineer to join our customer focused team based in Tampa Florida. This is a new position due to customer demand, you will be involved in building new applications for our products - and will get to work on interesting new developments!
About the role
This position reports to our Team Lead - US Applications, you will be responsible for building maintaining and supporting our North American Petroleum application software solutions, with a commitment to delivering a quality solution on time and to agreed customer standards. The core functions of this role will be:
• Product maintenance
• Application software development and documentation
• Application test plan development
• Development process and continuous improvement
Skills and Experience
We are interested in speaking with candidates who love software development - we are open to looking at experience levels as most importantly is finding someone who fits with our Invenco culture - and loves to code!
Ideally our successful candidate holds the following background:
• Qualification in Software Engineering
• 3 years embedded software development experience within a constrained environment
• An understanding of electronics; interpreting electronic schematics
• Embedded Linux x86 / ARM
• Understand fundamentals of digital design and communication protocols such as; asynchronous, serial, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, SPI, I2C
• Ability to use general electronic lab equipment; oscilloscope, protocol analyser, logic analyser
• Proficient in C / C++ and Assembler languages
• Experience using embedded tools; compilers, debuggers, JTAG, protocol analysers, RTOS or OSes
• Experience with Version Control Systems (GIT,CVS / Subversion)
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
