What you’ll be doing...
The Hybrid Cloud Systems Engineer will play a key role in the strategic direction, architecture a nd implementation of Hybrid Cloud Systems services across the corporate Systems IT team at Verizon Connect.
• Provisioning, deploying, configuring and maintaining Saas, PaaS, and IaaS services such Azure, HyperV, VMWare ESXi.
• Managing shared storage (FC, iSCSI), storage controllers, RAID types, Storage appliance.
• Maintaining existing and build new Windows 2008(R2)/2012(R2)/2016/2019 Server, Active Directory and related applications/services.
• Working with security teams to resolve security vanabulties and remediations.
• Supporting end users as needed for systems support in multiple environments (onprem and cloud).
• Managing regular patching schedules for all server environments.
• Working with other IT systems team members to help as needed for support.
• Providing inputs to systems architecture and driving the implementation of it with multiple teams.
• Developing weekly reports on systems uptime and performance, provide recommendations.
• Maintaining systems documentation.
• Decommissioning multiple legacy environments.

You will work with other IT teams (Network/Infrastructure, Security) to architect and implement systems. You'll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
• Four or more years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of architecting, designing, implementing, and managing IaaS environments such as Amazon AWS, Azure, Rackspace.
• Experience with network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, VPN, SNMP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, MPLS, others).
• Experience in Windows 2008(R2)/2012(R2)/2016/2019 Server, Active Directory and related applications/services. (DNS, DHCP, NPS, DFS, ADFS, WAP, ADMT, RADIUS, WSUS), GPO deployment and management.
• Knowledge of highly available hypervisor clusters and associated technologies and concepts (HyperV, VMWare ESXi, NIC teaming, shared storage (FC, iSCSI), storage controllers, RAID types, Storage appliance management, RSAT and related management tools etc.)
• Experience with managing Linux operating systems.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
• Willingness to travel.
