Job Summary Responsible for providing and maintaining a safe area for aquatic activity during hours that require a lifeguard on duty. Job Responsibilities Responsible for the prevention of incidents, responding to emergencies and enforcing facility rules related to aquatic area. Enforces the facility and pool rules. Assists with keeping aquatic area clean and safe every shift that is worked. Ensures supplies are maintained in the department. Alerts fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics regarding functionality and/or availability of equipment. Completes incident reports when incidents occur and alerts fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics. Organizational Responsibilities Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures. Executes all tasks and behaves in a manner consistent with a culture of compliance, safety and a high reliability organization; behavior supports the organization#s core commitments of Integrity, Service, Respect, Teamwork, Excellence, and Innovation. Education High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or higher preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross, Young Men#s Christian Association (YMCA), or Ellis and Associates required. Work Experience No experience#required. A minimum of 1 year experience in Lifeguarding preferred. Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
