The UNT Health Science Center Clinical Practice Group is the academic practice plan for the Health Science Center. Focused on primary care and improving health outcomes to all to build a healthier community, UNTHSC Clinical Practice Group has 13 unique clinics on the UNTHSC campus. Select specialties are aligned with key educational and clinical objectives
supporting our primary care focus. In each clinic, an interprofessional team works collaboratively to achieve an optimized treatment plan tailored to the individual patient. The UNTHSC Clinical Practice Group as an interdisciplinary
team of primary care and specialty care providers who are dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of our patients through patient centered clinical care, research and the education of health profession students.
Position Overview
The University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Clinic Service Representative to join our Dermatology clinic team. The Clinical Service Representative will perform clerical duties using specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: * Scheduling appointments. * Billing patients. * Compiling and recording medical charts, reports, * Answering patient phone calls and correspondence.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

Operate office equipment, such as voice mail messaging systems, spreadsheet, or other software applications to prepare reports, financial statements, letters, case histories, or medical records.

Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff. Schedule and confirm patient appointments, surgeries, or medical consultations.

Maintain medical records, technical library, or correspondence files.
o
Greet visitors, ascertain the purpose of visit and direct them to appropriate staff. Completing patient appointment check in and check out.
o
Compile and scan medical charts, reports, or correspondence, using a computer.
o
Receive and route messages or documents, such as laboratory results, to appropriate staff.
o
Transmit correspondence or medical records by mail, e-mail, or fax.
o
Perform various clerical or administrative functions, such as ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies.
o
Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, or registration. Gather patient insurance information and check eligibility.
o
Performs other duties as assigned to meet ongoing needs of the department.
