We are looking to hire Sterile Processing Technicians for a client facility in Tampa, Florida.
Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Place of Performance: 12902 USF Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612
Work Schedule: evening and night shift (evening shift is 2.30 to 11pm and night shift is 11pm to 7.30am)
Performance Period: 13 weeks
Scope of Work:
• The Sterile Processing Technician functions within sterile processing to process instruments, equipment and supplies for utilization in the operating room, in-house departments and clinics;
• Appropriate record keeping and distribution.
• Observes all rules and regulations governing
• processing standards of practice regarding all methods of sterilization and processing.
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve many issues at one time.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Must have a High School Diploma/GED
• Must be certified through CBSPD or IAHCSMM as a Sterile Processing Tech upon hire and must maintain certification according to that governing body
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience CRCST certification is required.
• In Lieu of certification a minimum of 3 year of relevant experience is required. Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire date.
• Experience with an automated inventory control system preferred
• Familiarity with and knowledge of medical supplies
• Experience with automated database for instrumentation preferred
• Familiarity with O.R. routines, infection control principles and regulatory practices
