Overview & Responsibilities
Republic Finance is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to join our IT Systems & Operations team! At Republic Finance, we are building a leading consumer lending company. In this role you will support all daily network operational activities delivering, managing, monitoring, and supporting all essential data center and company network infrastructure. You will work to identify errors that are often difficult to detect and perform root cause analysis in finding a resolution to problems. This role works with the network engineering team to provide oversight for the development and implementation of procedures that ensure network systems support the data center business requirements, meet compliance/security requirements and meet the needs of end users and customers. Job responsibilities are as follows:
• Responsible in supporting all network hardware components, network operating systems, performance network availability, patch management and security updates according to standards and current best practices
• Performs installation, configuration and upgrades to network routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN terminators and any other types of network and transports infrastructure in LAN, WAN & additional private network environments
• Work in a high availability data center environment and in the areas of complex networking configuration, system backup, customer network installation, performance monitoring/tuning, security monitoring, network capacity management, user technical support, general network problem solving and infrastructure maintenance
• Responsible for ensuring availability of both customer network connectivity and access to the production server environment in accordance with documented SLA’s for business units
• Work proficiently with network systems such as: Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWALL, Citrix, HCI Platforms (Nutanix, VMware, etc…), Azure & like cloud based virtual networking
• Perform network problem solving, including a cooperative work effort with the server group and support desk
• Participate in efforts in the identification of network security issues, as well as the design and implementation of effective solutions
• Assist with configuration, maintenance and upkeep of several enterprise class network environments.
• Perform required software maintenance, including installation and upgrades of products and NOS’s, at both the datacenter and business unit level
• Coordinate testing by users in preparation for installations and upgrades to live system
• Manage production problems when they occur, advance issues to the proper support personnel when situations arise
Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in supporting complex network infrastructure environments.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of experience in addition to the above requirement
• Extensive understanding of the protocols and technologies including, but not limited to: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, STP, SIP, MPLS, HSRP, LDAP, DHCP, DNS and VRFs
• Extensive understanding of security concepts including, but not limited to: IDS/IPS, Antivirus, Web-filtering, SSL encrypt/decrypt, two-factor authentication, SSL, and VPN
• Experience with VMWare Network Virtualization
• Real-world network and Data Center Network Operations experience
• Professional network certification from one of the following: Cisco (CCNA, CCIE, etc.), Fortinet
• Outstanding ability to perform logical problem solving in high pressure situations
• Ability to work in a multi-vendor and multiple-network environment
• General knowledge of various Linux operating systems
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid understanding of change management concepts and practices
Desired Experience
• Experience with Hyperconverged Platform(s) are a plus
• Experience with Cisco High performance computing (HPC), high-frequency trading (HFT) & massively scalable datacenter (MSDC) switching a plus
• Experience with Public Cloud Networking (Azure, AWS, Google) a plus
• Security Certification(s) are a plus
• Networking Certification(s) are a plus
