Job Description Lutz Healthcare & Rehabilitation -
OVERVIEW:
As an Infection Control Preventionist / Risk Designee you will be responsible for providing best practices with COVID 19 prevention and control of infectious or comunicable diseases within the Center as well as assist in investigate risk within the Center on a daily basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Holds daily shift report with staff to review best practices and prevention
• Makes rounds daily
• Ensure handwashing, PPE, signage, and visitation is above quality standards
• Risk Manager Designee to the Director of Nursing / Nursing Home Administrator
• Collaborates with the Educator to be sure staff, residents, and visitors are educated to the latest Infection Prevention techniques
• Assists the attending physician with rounds and special procedures
• Contacts the resident's physician and family to notify them of a change in the antibiotics and infections; also notifies the supervisor/dept managers
• assumes independent responsibility for completing required routine documentation and auditing as required
• Assist in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Florida
• 1+ year of education or experience in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation preferred
• Infection Preventionist certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including the administration of medications
• CPR certified
