YMCA READS! Mentor / Literacy Tutor YMCA READS!: An exciting literacy/mentoring initiative for Kindergarten through Third grade students, sponsored by The Florida State Alliance of YMCA.   Mission: YMCA READS! helps struggling students gain self-confidence, develop good character, and improve their reading skills at three elementary schools in Hillsborough County.  YMCA READS! Is a part of the YMCA’s core mission to build strong children.   Position Title: Mentor/Literacy Tutor (2 hour weekly)   Locations: Pizzo Elementary (USF) Sulphur Springs K8 Community School (Sulphur Springs) Twin Lakes Elementary (Egypt Lake/Leto)     Qualifications: 17 years + Background Screening Program/Policy Training   Responsibilities: Follow curriculum guidelines created by YMCA READS! Coordinator Review and practice lessons for each tutoring session. Maintain necessary paper work. Assist in student supervision, help maintain order, and promote Positive Behavior Support. Be a positive role model and mentor
