Laboratory Research Operations at the Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join the Gene Targeting Core as a Research Specialist I in Tampa, FL. Position Highlights: The Research Specialist I works closely with the core staff and center#s research community in an effort to further cancer research through development and execution of transgenic services. #The candidate will assist in and perform a variety of techniques such as in vitro fertilization, sperm and embryo cryopreservation, embryo isolation, ES cell and DNA injections, and embryo transfers. Moreover, the candidate will perform regular and specialized mouse husbandry (hormone injections, plug checking, weaning, health monitoring). Experience in advanced mouse husbandry is essential and expertise in transgenics is preferred. Credentials and Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma, AA/AS degree preferred, or a BA/BS (desired). Minimum of two years in a science related filed with High School diploma. or One year of laboratory experience with AA/AS degree. No experience required with BS/BA degree. Core specific licensure and/or certifications required. Annual Human Subjects Training, i.e. CITI is required #
