POSITION TITLE: SOCIAL SERVICES SPECIALIST FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• High School diploma/GED required.
• Two years of experience in Customer Service and Public Relations.
• Appropriate telephone skills
• Computer literate.
• Two years of experience on Data Entry preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Determine if the patient meets the requirements needed to apply for Medicaid.
• Complete the online Medicaid application for SCHC patients.
• Fax the required documents to the designated Access Health Solutions staff.
• Keep the documentation of the electronic application on the patient account under the appropriate folder.
• Follow up on the outcome of the application, and update the patients account accordingly.
• Keep track of the insurance eligibility beginning date for back billing purposes.
• Contact the patient for follow up appointment four weeks before the expiration date.
• Handle patient calls requesting information on the Medicaid requirements and give appointments for screening or follow up as needed.
• Keep close contact with Access Health Solutions designated staff, to establish an open, professional and friendly relationship.
• Any other duties as assigned.
