The Health Physicist (HP) assists the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) with administering the Radiation Safety Program for medical and research uses. In this role, you will continually evaluate the effectiveness of the dosimetry and bioassay programs. You will be responsible for assisting with mentoring the Radiation Safety Technicians to ensure divisional production is of premium quality and effectively respond to radiation emergencies and apply appropriate corrective actions. This position will develop and provide engaging and innovative training to personnel. You will also produce clear, well-researched policies and procedures along with performing other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
• Bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, health physics or related scientific discipline required
• Master's degree in health physics preferred
• Experience in applied health physics in a medical/research radiation safety program preferred
• Knowledge and implementation of federal and state regulations and license conditions preferred
