Full Job Description Seeking an MA/Phlebotomist to fulfill the clinical team’s goals and responsibilities in treating all patients with total comprehensive care, according to the Midwaycare.org model, we serve all patients with health care in a timely, professional fashion.
Medical Front Office- Medical Assistants will check in, schedule and register our HIV patients to plan for their appointment by reviewing records and charts the day before the appointment to make sure all required documents are there, insurance is verified, all testing is completed, and all results are obtained.
MA will work in front desk region as well, executing prior authorizations, check outs, referrals and scheduling appointments. MA will also perform check out duties: follow-up on referrals, making sure appointments are kept, that specialists have information about patients before their appointment, and that your physician receives the specialist’s recommendations.
MA may provide basic triage and health care services according to guidelines established by the Agency for Health Care Administration; Florida Medicaid, and the Florida Department of Health. Maintains client confidentiality according to the agency’s policies and procedures.
Applicants with experience in the EMR EClinical Works are given preference.
We provide accessible, coordinated, comprehensive, and continuous quality health care and ensure all patients' preventive, acute, and chronic care needs are met by emphasizing efficient and timely service delivery. MA's will also help inform patients about classes, support groups, or other services that can help them learn more about their chronic conditions and stay healthy.
Required experience:
Certified Medical Assistant: 1 year Medical Assisting: 1 year
Preferred license or certification: preference given to CCMA Certified Medical Assistants, Phlebotomy skills are preferred.
Duties:
Advocate for the needs of the patient.
Maintain updated, signed, dated and legible notes that document the changing needs and welfare of the patient.
Completes annual educational requirement.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
Attends annual review and in-services as scheduled.
Attends staff meetings.
Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
Participates in the clinic's continuous quality improvement activities.
Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the office.
Provide timely delivery of forms and data needed.
Works to resolve patient issues.
Documents and maintain necessary notes, files and records for patients. Files all forms, invoices and documents in proper order.
Practices HIPAA compliance at work and off duty.
Will Meet Dress Code Standards:
a. Appearance is neat and clean. No artificial nails or nails 1/4 inch long past fingertip.
b. Professional attire or scrubs provided by the office will be worn at all times.
c. Shoes must be closed-toe.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to exercise superior independent judgment in dealing with complex and urgent medical and social service situations.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with physicians, their staff, Department of Health Personnel, and other providers and agencies.
Superior interpersonal skills.
Ability to simultaneously respond to technical programmatic requirements while providing compassionate care.
Knowledge of substance abuse issues and dual diagnoses.
Knowledge of federal and state entitlement programs, Ryan White and managed care systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Computer proficiency with Windows-based programs and operating system.

Salary: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
