Job Description Mortgage Risk Control Manager
U.S. Bank is hiring for a Mortgage Risk Control Manager. The ideal individual will have both extensive mortgage knowledge as well as control knowledge. He/she will be responsible for developing, executing and monitoring the processes required for the Risk Control functions for all USBHM. He/she will be tasked with ensuring properly documented controls to address all risks are in place and meet the internal risk and control policies.
Job Function & Responsibilities
• Create a process for each unit within USBHM to ensure as any business changes are implemented existing controls are reviewed to ensure appropriate coverage exists
• Assess both automated and manual controls
• Oversee all Mortgage Control reviews and exams from internal and external sources
• Work with the business lines and CBB Risk partners to update, educate and provide guidance regarding the risk control functions
• Possess a strong working relationship with the control owners, senior business line leaders, examiners, and first and second line of defense leaders to fully execute their role effectively
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business/Finance, or equivalent work experience
• 10 or more years of experience in Mortgage Lending
• 5 or more years management experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
• Strong leadership abilities and strategic supervisory skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Outstanding analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to come in as a self-starter, with minimal direction, and hit the ground running
• Capable of handling multiple moving pieces, parts, and people throughout a complex LOB
• Skilled at creating cohesive, efficient and resourceful working environments by mixing and matching talents, skills and experience
• Ability to conceptualize solutions and visualize the processes necessary to make them work
• Executes in a timely fashion and demonstrates flexibility in challenging situations
