Asst/Associate Member for Hematology & Cellular Therapy Faculty & Advanced Practice Professionals Hours: Day Shift Hrs./Variable Day Shift - Full Time Paygrade/Wages/Salary Info: FACLINAST HMC - 155.0000 - 165.0000
Qualifications: Must have Hematology Oncology fellowship and be BMT trained; BMT fellowship not required. Must be board certified or eligible. Assistant or Associate level, not more senior physician. Prefer candidates have academic experience. Need to have a specialty focus. Preferred: Transplant and cellular therapy and CAR-T, with sub-specialty in lymphoma. Requirement for physician to be willing to do allo transplants. Expected teaching roles: training APPs and Heme-One fellows; expectation of conducting 1 lectures per month Cultural fit important. Candidate should be well regarded in the community. Should have a passion for their work, be motivated and a self-starter. Candidate should have a research focus, but will not have a lab. About Program Research, publishing, teaching are key components of what we do, and part of annual evaluation and incentive. Myeloid Leukemia (AML and MDS), lymphoma, myeloma are main disease sites seen at MHCT, and HCT and CAR-T. Physicians will work 4 clinic days with 1 Admin day per week. OP clinic. Expect 13-15 patients per clinic day per MD. Hours 0830 # 1700 Will conduct 2-week IP rotation every 6-8 weeks. IP. Service capped at 25 patients 0730 pre-rounding, 0900 round with APPs each with 5-8 patient panel. Rounding takes ~3 hours. Take admission calls from ER (on-call 24/7 during IP rotation). Will also complete notes and conduct admin requirements rest of the day after rounding. On average, expect 1-2 calls per night; some weeks may not get called at all. Calls are mostly consults by phone, often not required to physically go in to hospital. APPs are not on nighttime call, but do help with admissions during the day (paperwork and processing), and also conduct weekend shifts. Infusion management, weekly Hematology tumor boards, and Malignant Hematology and Cellular Therapy lecture series comprise other parts of the duty day.
