About the Role
The Product Controls team is seeking a motivated process and control focused candidate to support and drive key initiatives spanning across the Product disciplines. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that risk and control gaps are identified, reported, and remediated. This includes ensuring that risk policy, guidelines, and risk grading methodologies are calibrated and in-synch with business and corporate standards.
The Product Controls lead will coordinate across various departments including Risk, Compliance, Legal, Third Party Oversight, Business Resiliency, Technology, Operations and Product Management to communicate and enforce control standards and execute against control related projects and initiatives. The ideal person for this role is someone who possesses a strong understanding of controls, process improvement, and a blend of business and technical knowledge.
Responsibilities
• Lead Issue Management related activities, such as drafting of issues, action plans, risk acceptance; oversee remediation of issues
• Aggressively identify and remediate control gaps; work with product managers in early identification and reporting of emerging control issues
• Monitor and assess the consistency of risk management practices across our Product offering
• Lead control related projects, including strategy creation, requirements oversight and implementation
• Manage and execute foundational controls as assigned
• Support Audit and CCOR readiness activities
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field
• 3 to 5 years of risk/controls or related experience
• 3+ years in a payment processing, financial or product related role; understanding of the payments space, including credit card, bank ACH, Cash and/or Treasury Management, or transaction processing preferred
• Drives results through leadership, people, communication and influence
• Comfortable with change, ambiguity, debate, conflict and informed risk taking
• Ability to drive large initiatives spanning across multiple teams and organizations
• Experience creating standard operating procedures and policies
• Experience partnering with colleagues, clients and control community members to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls
• Must have strong organizational skills to plan, organize and schedule resources
• Ability to understand and communicate policy requirements to stakeholders from both business and technical areas
• Ability to work independently and develop creative ways to achieve goals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint
