Full Job Description TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST VISIT www.owensboro.org AND COMPLETE OUR JOB APPLICATION.
Responsible for developing and coordinating grant-funded programs for agencies, institutions, local government, etc., as well as overseeing special projects such as administrative projects for City management, as assigned. Primary functions include but not limited to: Reviews literature on available government grants and private foundation funding to determine feasibility of developing programs to supplement local annual budget allocations; Writes grant application in required format, and submits to funding agency or foundation; Meets with funding source representatives to work out final proposal details. Develops, coordinates, and performs day-to-day administration and oversight of the Owensboro Main Street Program; Assist in implementation of Downtown Master Plan; Serve as liaison between Main Street Board, Community, and City government concerning the Main Street Program. Assists Community Development Director and other City management, as assigned, on special and administrative projects related to, but not limited to, community development, promotional and public relations projects, planning and coordinating special project fund drives, banquets, meetings, events, and other activities.
Starting pay $18.2337/hr. Provided benefits include, but are not limited to health insurance, group life insurance, wellness program, and CERS retirement through Kentucky Retirement Systems. Paid time off includes vacation, sick time, and holidays (for eligible employees).
QUALIFICATIONS (Required at time of application) :
Bachelors Degree in Public Administration or other job-related field, or 4 years work-related experience in grant writing or similar position. Equivalent amount of education and/or experience) is acceptable. Valid driver’s license required. Experience in grant writing or fundraising, project development, administration, and economic development is preferred, but not required.
