MATERIAL HANDLER (Packing Department)
Material Handlers will support the supplies requirements needed by the packing lines by unloading orders and moving inventory utilizing a pallet jack or hand cart.
Job Description
The material handlers in the packing department are the suppliers of tools, components (bags, clips, hangers, carboard boxes, etc.) and orders for the packing lines. A team of 2 material handlers are responsible for 10 to 12 production lines providing them with all the necessary products.
Sometimes the material handlers are needed in other departments to help on loading and unloading trucks or containers.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, TRAITS INCLUDE:
•             Must operate a pallet jack to move merchandise in the warehouse
•             Must be able to pull/put cartons from a rack
•             Must be able to read and understand bar codes on boxes
•             Must be able to read locations
•             Must be able to lift up boxes up to 50lbs
•             Must be able to read, write, and count accurately
•             Must be able to stand for long periods (up to 10 hours per day)
•             Must be able to walk pulling a pallet jack for long distances.
•             Must be able to work flexible hours, good attendance is a must
•             Must be able to work extended hours and extra days - Overtime may be mandatory
•             Must be able to use a RF scanner
•             Must be able to work as a team with other material handlers
•             Must possess steel toe shoes
