This role will be the Commercial Water Heater delivery point of contact
Non-CDL Delivery Truck Driver Qualifications
• Prior commercial truck driving experience is strongly preferred
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Must be able to lift items that weigh up to of 50lbs
• NO CDL required!
Non-CDL Delivery Truck Driver Responsibilities
• Deliver materials to the customer, which includes assistance with unloading, ensuring delivery of ticket with material, and collecting payment, if necessary
• Pick up customer returns, validating product match for credit requests as necessary
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor
• Use Commercial Water Heater program specific equipment including, yet not limited to, stair climbers
• Transport and set-in-place Commercial Water Heaters weighing up to 950lbs
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
• Conduct residential and business deliveries utilizing the Commercial Water Heater truck (and other vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating or Gross Combination Weight Rating of greater than or less than 26k lbs.) and operate the lift gate and pipe rack in accordance with training
• Accurately check truck and customer loads.
• Verify delivery addresses.
• Turn in invoices at the end of the day
• Perform all assigned tasks concerning Commercial Water Heaters including managing time on job sites and on-time deliveries, and safety in all aspects of the delivery
• Communicate immediately with supervisor if a scheduled delivery is going to be late so that the customer can be alerted
• Represents the organization to customers, associates and leadership as needed.
• Interact with customers and associates, always mindful that this program starts with customer service
• Respond to afterhours calls unless a leave request has been approved by supervisor (understand that most deliveries must be completed within 2-3 hours of the order entry)
• When on call, no drinking allowed as a call can come at anytime
• Associate is restricted to use of company provided cell phone for all business communication
• Report immediately, both verbally and by email, any issues concerning equipment or on-site safety issues
• When not on a Commercial Water Heater Delivery, associate must report to the warehouse manager for assignments in the warehouse
