Overview:
We are seeking a Part-Time Senior Staff Accountant for our Tampa, Florida (US) team. Reporting to the Global Financial Reporting & Tax Manager in our UK (Macclesfield) office, this position will lead daily accounting operations with respect to GAAP compliance and serve as the local (Tampa) business unit lead, within our Global Finance & Accounting team. It's a fantastic opportunity for an experience professional, looking to balance professional/personal commitments, while maintaining and building on a strong accounting management background.
About the Role:
• Manage monthly close for designated business unit(s), including balance sheet analysis, journal entries, accounting reconciliations, and variance analysis & reporting
• Provide technical accounting guidance to local departments, finance and the business, as questions, issues and new guidance arise
• Assist in annual audit processes
• Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements for reporting and closing procedures
• Provide guidance/mentorship to junior staff members
• Ad-hoc duties as needed
About You:
• Proficient in ERP software (experience with NetSuite will be helpful)
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Background in/practical working knowledge of PEO, Payroll and/or Human Capital Management will be extremely useful in this role
• Strong, relevant professional accounting experience
• Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• Ad-hoc duties as needed
• Eye for process improvement while increasing accuracy
• Ability to work part-time, 20 hours per week
