Summary:
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for managing the business operations of Human Resources, Information Technology, Contracts, Compliance and other administrative support staff. Activities will include working with senior leadership and operations staff to develop, implement and oversee improvements to the organization to meet short and long-term goals. Position will report to firm President.
What you will do:
• Leads operations teams including human resources, IT, office administration and contracts, by overseeing their functions, vendors and results.
• Oversees operational systems, processes, and infrastructure (facilities) while looking for opportunities of improvement or revision. This includes managing COVID-19 policies and procedures, i.e. re-opening offices, safety measures, compliance with Federal, State and Local laws.
• Works closely with senior leadership on understanding priorities of departmental projects and communicates periodically on progress and direction.
• Collaborates with staff to identify opportunities to improve and reinforce positive morale, company culture and values. This includes overseeing the planning of company-wide staff meetings, employee events, and office specific culture committees.
• Works with Finance Director to manage fiscally responsible departmental spending.
• Identifies and reviews needed policies and procedures and drives them to completion, including drafting and/or reviewing (e.g. employee handbook, expense policy, etc.).
• Monitors and reviews training programs and continuing education to ensure compliance and quality standards are met as well as supports the learning and development of team members to become competent managers.
• Monitors comp and benefit packages for competitiveness/equity and identifies improvements. Includes all operations and professional staff, including executive comp.
• Designs and Implements methods to measure client satisfaction and improve client retention.
• Stays up to date on departmental regulations, trends, and technology.
• Recognizes issues, identifies conflicts, removes barriers, resolves issues and escalates to appropriate level when required.
• Establishes and maintains credible, professional relationships with department leads, Principals, employees and external vendors.
• Plays a significant role in long-term planning and project status reporting.
Position Requirements
Requirements:
• 15+ years of business operations management experience
• Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
• 10 years of HR and other operation departmental oversight
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven leadership ability
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Experience working with all levels of management and gaining support from key business stakeholders. An ability to influence for greater outcomes.
• Degree in Business Administration, human resources or related field
• Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in a professional consulting environment
• Experience identifying and writing operational policies and procedures
• A detailed understanding of overall strategic direction, interrelationships and business needs
• Great analytical and presentation skills
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to function at a high level in a team setting whether leading the group or acting as an individual contributor
• Proactive and positive management approach
• Ability to build strong relationships with co-workers of various backgrounds and expertise
• Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented.
